Embassy of Colombia in the Netherlands

This week the president of the National Infrastructure Agency, Luis Fernando Andrade Moreno, along with The Minister Plenipotentiary of the Embassy of Colombia to The Netherlands, Álvaro Gutiérrez Botero, developed an important visit in the Netherlands. During this period, he had the opportunity to meet with officials responsible both for public and private sectors, on the construction and financing of infrastructure.

On the one hand, he met with the person in charge of PPP (Public Private Partnerships), within the Dutch government, and exchanged knowledge about the functioning of these associations in their respective countries. Additionally, he discussed with officials from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Environment on projects being carried out in Colombia in infrastructure and its current development. On the other hand, president Andrade met with banks, pension funds and development banks who are major players in terms of financing these programs. Finally, he visited the Port of Rotterdam, holding a meeting there with their directives.

The national agency aims to plan, coordinate, structure (among others), draft concessions and other forms of Public Private Partnership for the construction and maintenance of public infrastructure (roads, ports, airports and railways) of Colombia. This entity has been noted for its high efficiency and in 2014 was chosen by the prestigious British publication "P3 Bulletin" as the best government agency PPP in 2014, among the 10 nominees from Canada, US and Latin America.
