The Netherlands and Colombia united in logistic dialogues
On 5 and 6 April 2017, the first “Colombian-Dutch Dialogue on Logistics, Transport and Multimodalism” was held at the Habitel Hotel in Bogotá, Colombia. The event was organized by the Embassy of the Netherlands in Colombia with the support of the Colombian National Business Association (ANDI), the Dutch-Colombian Chamber of Commerce (Holland House) and the STC Group. The Embassy of Colombia to the Netherlands supported this meeting by disseminating information among their contacts.
The event was a call to entrepreneurs, government and academia to jointly work towards logistics, agro-logistics and transport through an innovative dialogue format and active participation. As a result, the main actors from both countries in the logistics sector attended to discuss problems and solutions by using the Dutch expertise as a tool, but adapted to the national reality.
The Deputy Minister of Transport of Colombia, Dimitri Zaninovich, who also attended this event, recalled that for 6 years the country has been working together with the Netherlands in the water sector as a result of the 2011 winter wave emergency in Colombia. In this sense, the Netherlands accompanied the elaboration of the Fluvial Master Plan and the Dredging Master Plan with their knowledge and expertise on climate change.
