Colombian residents in the Netherlands exercised their right to vote during the 2018 congressional elections

The Hague, 19 March 2018 - Colombian nationals in the Netherlands exercised their right to vote during the week of 5 to 11 March for the congressional elections of 2018. The National Civil Registry Office enabled two polling stations in this country: one located at the Embassy of Colombia in The Hague and the other at the Consulate General of Colombia in Amsterdam.

There were no inconveniences during the electoral process in both cities and in each of them more than 200 Colombians voted.

We are especially grateful to Colombians who volunteered to serve as voting juries during this week, since they had to work during long days but made it possible that the process was carried out without difficulties or problems of any nature.

We remind you that during the week of 21 to 27 May 2018, elections for President and Vice President of the Republic of Colombia will be held in the same voting stations.

In that sense, if you have not yet registered your Colombian identity card (cédula de ciudadanía), you still have time to do so either at the Embassy or at the Consulate. The deadline to register your Colombian identity card is 27 March 2018.
