Cooperation in renewable energies, trade and economic relations: subjects discussed between the Colombian and Dutch delegations

Bogotá (6 april 2018). In the extended meeting between the delegations of Colombia and the Netherlands, led by Minister María Ángela Holguín, subjects of the bilateral agenda and cooperation scenarios were discussed.

In renewable energies, the Netherlands supports the use of unconventional sources of energy for non-interconnected areas. Through this cooperation, Colombia has been able to strengthen its capacities in the implementation of new technologies and in the definition of regulatory frameworks for the sector.

In addition, Colombia and the Netherlands are carrying out cooperation projects between La Guajira and the islands with hydroponic vegetable crops.

On the other hand, Colombia is seeking to deepen the commercial relationship with Curacao in order to have better access to Colombian food products, such as meat and fruit.
Before concluding the meeting, Minister Holguín thanked the Netherlands for its support for he the entry of Colombia to the OECD.
