The Hague, January 25, 2022. The Ambassador of Colombia to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Fernando Antonio Grillo Rubiano, organized and participated in a meeting between Dutch Cycling Embassy and Fundación Gero.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs supports the participation of Colombian athletes in international settings; as well as the exchange of experiences that contribute to the promotion and development of sport in all stages of life and its relationship with society; the strengthening of sport in schools, universities, leagues, and federations; and programs that promote integrity and innovation in sport areas, in compliance with the sports policy guidelines of Colombia.

The Embassy of Colombia sees the Netherlands as a strategic partner endowed with extensive knowledge and expertise on bicycle matters. Likewise, we see Dutch Cycling Embassy as an ally to support the correct transition to sustainable mobility that generates positive impacts on the economy, social inclusion, health, and reduction of emissions, allowing our country to achieve the objectives of sustainable development and improve the living conditions of society in Colombia. Therefore, the Embassy of Colombia in the Netherlands supports Fundación Gero’s initiative of approaching Dutch strategic partners to promote cycling best practices in Colombia and encourage exchanging knowledge and technology between both countries.

The Colombian Embassy in the Netherlands supports the actions and projects that Fundación Gero and the Dutch Cycling Embassy have decided to undertake.
