The Ambassador Fernando Grillo held a meeting with Christophe Bernasconi Secretary General of the Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCH)
The Hague, 18th of october. On the 18th of october the Ambassador Fernando Grillo held a meeting with Christophe Bernasconi Secretary General of the Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCH) at the Embassy of Colombia. During the meeting it was discussed how important is for Colombia the bill related to the statute of the HCCH.
Colombia was invited to become a Member of The Hague Conference on private International Law since 2006. Therefore, on the 23rd of august it was presented to the Colombian Congress a draft of bill ´By means of which the Statute of the Hague Conference of Private International Law is approved´. On the 28th of September the bill was presented and approved in the Senate´s first debate.
The Secretary General Mr. Bernasconi presented his compliments to the Embassy for its efforts on the submission and approval of the bill in the first debate of the Senate.
