Colombian translational genomics researcher Fernando Rivadeneira, a Bogota-born physician residing in the Netherlands and affiliated with the Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam, received the National Order of Merit. Rivadeneira recently received the prestigious European Research Council Advanced Grant, which only three researchers have obtained in 25 years in this category.
