The Hague (jul. 09/21). Within the framework of the Plan to Promote Colombia Abroad, the Embassy of Colombia to the Kingdom of the Netherlands screened the documentary “Cita con la Trocha”  from the Colombia Bio Series at the IHE Delft Institute for Water Education.

The event was attended by the Rector of the Institute, Professor Eddie Moors, the Colombian professor Leonardo Alfonso and students of different nationalities. On the occasion of this activity, the excellent relationship between Colombia - IHE Delft was emphasized, the fact that more than 350 Colombians have had the opportunity to study at IHE Delft Institute for Water Education was highlighted, and the signing of the MoU between IHE Delft with ICETEX - which its main purpose is to continue supporting more students to have the opportunity to study at this institute - was celebrated.

Ambassador Fernando Antonio Grillo Rubiano greeted the public and stressed the importance of strengthening the relationship between Colombia and higher education institutions abroad – especially those that have opened the doors to Colombian students as IHE Delft Institute.

The documentary Cita con la Trocha of the Colombia Bio Series was filmed in the Serranía de las Quinchas and the Páramo de Chiscas, a remote and unexplored territory that received a botanical expedition for the first time. This film recounts the experiences of national and international scientists and institutions in search of known and unknown species, who have the common purpose of promoting the study, conservation, management, and sustainable use of biodiversity in Colombian territories through science, technology, and innovation.

The Plan to Promote Colombia Abroad is a tool of cultural diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Colombia, aiming to support the achievement of foreign policy objectives of the Colombian State.
