Rotterdam (3.12.2021). The Embassy presented the art exhibition Unibirds: Universe of Colombian Birds by Colombian artists Sergio Mantilla and Miguel Chaparro, which uses analog (printing) and digital technologies (mixed media + AR) to reveal the biodiversity of Colombia through its birds, allowing the public to know and observe interactively the colors, textures, details, and behavior of the birds that inhabit the Colombian territory.
Rotterdam (3.12.2021). Colombian translational genomics researcher Fernando Rivadeneira, a Bogota-born physician residing in the Netherlands and affiliated with the Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam, received the National Order of Merit. Rivadeneira recently received the prestigious European Research Council Advanced Grant, which only three researchers have obtained in 25 years in this category.

La Embajada presentó la exhibición de arte Unibirds: Universe of Colombian Birds de los artistas colombianos Sergio Mantilla y Miguel Chaparro, la cual recurre a las tecnologías analógicas (impresión) y digitales (técnica mixta + AR) para develar la biodiversidad de Colombia a través de sus aves, permitiéndole al público conocer y observar de forma interactiva los colores, texturas, detalles y comportamiento de los pájaros que habitan en el territorio colombiano.

El investigador colombiano especialista en genómica traslacional, Fernando Rivadeneira, médico bogotano residente en los Países Bajos y afiliado al Centro Médico Erasmus en Rotterdam, recibió la Orden Nacional del Merito. Cabe resaltar que Rivadeneira recientemente recibió la prestigiosa beca del Consejo Europeo de Investigación para científicos avanzados (ERC Advanced Grant), el cual, solo trés investigadores han obtenido en 25 años en esta categoría.

TU/e and ICETEX, signed an agreement to arrive ten Colombian Ph.D. students at TU/e's Department of Electrical Engineering. In addition, the parties intend to offer a second group of ten Colombian Ph.D. students the opportunity to come to Eindhoven. At the signing, TU/e professor Idelfonso Tafur Monroy received the National Order of Merit in the Grade of Knight, presented by the Ambassador of Colombia to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Fernando Grillo.

TU/e y el ICETEX, firmaron un acuerdo para la llegada de diez estudiantes colombianos de doctorado al Departamento de Ingeniería Eléctrica de TU/e. En la firma, el professor colombiano de TU/e Idelfonso Tafur Monroy recibió la Orden Nacional del Mérito en el Grado de Caballero, entregada por el Embajador de Colombia en el Reino de los Países Bajos, Fernando Grillo.
El profesor Tafur Monroy recibió este reconocimiento por ser una figura destacada en la investigación científica y en proyectos que promueven la innovación en fotónica y telecomunicaciones, un ejemplo para los jóvenes colombianos, y por generar oportunidades y progreso para su país.

La Misión de Colombia ante la Organización para la Prohibición de las Armas Químicas - OPAQ, en cabeza de su Representante Permanente, Embajador Fernando Grillo, participó en la XXVI Conferencia de la Organización, la cual tuvo lugar entre el 29 de noviembre y el 2 de diciembre de la 2021.
En el marco de esta Conferencia, Colombia reiteró su respaldo a la Organización en su misión de lograr un mundo libre de este tipo de armas de destrucción masiva, así como en su labor de promoción del uso pacífico de la química.
Durante la reunión se tomaron importantes decisiones administrativas y misionales. Se destaca la elección de Colombia como miembro del Consejo Ejecutivo para el periodo 2022-2024.
La OPAQ es el órgano implementador de la Convención para la prohibición del desarrollo, la producción, el almacenamiento de las armas químicas y sobre su destrucción. Colombia es Estado Parte de la Convención desde el año 2000.

The Mission of Colombia to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons - OPCW, headed by its Permanent Representative, Ambassador Fernando Grillo, participated in the XXVI Conference of the Organization, which took place between November 29 and December 2, 2021.
Within the framework of this Conference, Colombia reiterated its support to the Organization in its mission to achieve a world free of this type of weapons of mass destruction and promote the peaceful use of chemistry.
During the meeting, important administrative and missionary decisions were taken. Of particular note was the election of Colombia as a member of the Executive Council for the period 2022-2024.
The OPCW is the implementing body of the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, and Stockpiling of Chemical Weapons and Their Destruction. Colombia has been a State Party to the Convention since 2000.

Welcomed more than 11 Colombian students, who will begin their studies at IHE Delft University. The meeting was moderated by Colombian professor Idelfonso Tafur.
Most of the students belong to the Orange Knowledge Program of the Dutch government, which allocates scholarships and facilitates the education of Colombians in the Netherlands.
